This week…

Lakeside Quilting Guild gave me a very warm welcome to their meeting on Tuesday evening. I was there to give my lecture, Safari Through African Folklore Embroidery. The Guild has been in existence for two years and meets in the basement community room of  the Treasure Island supermarket. They don’t have a huge number of members but they were one of the most friendly guilds I have ever been to. Sue came with me and she said she would definitely join them if she lived in the area even though she isn’t a quilter!!

Here I am with the President Camille and Public Relations Officer Mary Beth.

DSC08355 Did you recognize the quilt?

If you happen to be a member of the National Quilting Association you might have received a copy of their latest Quilting Quarterly this week.

DSC08357 Inside, on page 14, there was that quilt again…

DSC08358The final batch of quilts from the show in 2013 are featured, including mine. I didn’t have an entry this year. I need to get my act together if I’m going to have something ready for 2015?

Meanwhile I am getting ready for Chicago Festival next week. The piles are beginning to appear on the dining room table, ready for Open Studios and Make It University.

I’ve been assembling kits and wrapping cord today. The countdown has begun!
