Quilter and Child Class – Floor Pillow

We had a great time on Sunday at Pieceful Heart Fabrics. Three brave quilters each brought a favorite child with them to make a designer floor pillow. Here they are hard at work…

Three hours is a long time for anyone to concentrate but our young quilters were troupers and kept on cutting, piecing and pressing until they had finished their pillows. They found them to be soft and comfortable…

One student had to leave before I  could take a group photograph but here are the rest of the class…

Didn’t they do a good job? It’s always fun to see the fabric choices. Everyone chose bright and cheerful combinations. At least one of the girls had never used a sewing machine before. I hope this will be the first project of many!

I have been working on my samples for the new classes coming up. I will be posting pictures very soon. It has a been a busy month… I am speaking at Village Quilters in Wheaton on Monday. I have heard it is a friendly crowd of ladies so I am looking forward to meeting them. Before then I have the Fabric Origami Stars class at PHF. I will be practicing my fabric folding techniques this afternoon. But first I have to go and work out…
