Out and About!

The new Pieceful Heart Fabrics class catalog was in the mail box on Tuesday so I have had a particularly busy sewing schedule the last few weeks… What with one small distraction or another it has been somewhat hard to get to work this time around but I persevered and delivered the last sample yesterday.

I only have five “new” classes this quarter, the others are all “old” ones that remain popular…

I have two new Quilter and Child projects. There is a new Patrick Lose Poster Quilt called Upwardly Mobile featuring a ladybug…

and a lap quilt from Alex Anderson’s Super Simple Quilts#3, Triangles All Around,

I am expecting the child/quilter teams to get the tops made but they will have some homework to get done together to completely finish their quilts.

Kaffe Fassett’s new book, Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts provides the inspiration and pattern for Bow-Tie Circles. The book gives instructions for a king size quilt so I just made a section for my sample…

The fabrics all came from my stash, I even had a piece for the backing, all in my favorite color!

The sun was shining on Monday when I took these pictures outside on my deck but this is Illinois in April…

On Tuesday I went to Rockford for a little babysitting. I drove through the dark pre-dawn into a thunderstorm… But then I got the chance to spend a few hours with Benjamin so I shouldn’t really complain. (although I did!) We both survived the experience and I took the opportunity for more pictures.

It had stopped raining by the time I went home so I drove back via Judy’s Quilt and Sew in Sycamore. With the recent demise of Sew Something and Stitches and Stuffing it might become my most convenient Bernina dealer. I bought an invisible zipper foot. I’m hoping it will improve my zipper-sewing technique…

Driving across country is somewhat more interesting than the usual highway route. I will be watching out for other diversions I might take… only in daylight and preferably when it’s not raining!

I have one more sample that I need to take a photograph of. I am teaching a beading class tomorrow so I will take one then. Meanwhile it’s back to work on baby toys and books for Baby Love Club on Sunday.
