Off on safari and back home again…

It was time to have some African Folklore Embroidery fun yesterday! There were a couple of no-shows for the class but the four of us had a good time stitching on safari at Pieceful Heart Fabrics.   The kits are a great way of learning basic embroidery without the stress of more formal designs.

Hard at work…

Here is my completed Snafu Bird. Lots of different stitches…

and a close up of the flower. That’s a lot of french knots in the center.

Today I have been back in the basement. On Friday I made 120 hourglass units, combining two Kaffe Fasset charm packs I bought as a Craftsy deal and some more of those Marcia Derse fabrics I bought in Cincinnati. Now I am assembling them into nine patches. I’m still not sure what my finished quilt is going to look like.

Here are the six blocks made so far…

If you are observant you might have spotted a small problem at the front right… It has been fixed!

I want to put some sort of sashing somewhere but I still need to decide a color. On Wednesday I am off to the NQA show in Columbus. If I haven’t made my decision before then perhaps I will find something there?
