Hand-i-work

Even Julia knows that embroidery is “in” right now so perhaps an embroidery class specially designed for quilters will be popular?

We will be practicing at least 12 stitches in our 3 hours at Pieceful Heart Fabrics. Here is my display sampler,  made using Finca#8 perle cotton…

We will be talking about marking quilts for embroidery… I made a square using Cosmos variegated embroidery floss and a quilt stencil. It was supposed to be a square design, but when I put the borders on I realized it wasn’t…

Never mind. I hadn’t used this particular brand of floss before. It’s made in Japan and comes in a wonderful range of colors. I used 2 strands for the stem stitch outline. That meant that I could start with the same color at the same place for each line. (well, I know what I mean)

Yesterday I went to Rockford. Benjamin is almost 10 months old already. He has learnt to pose for the camera… Here he is wearing a sweater I made. I’m glad hand knitting is “in” too! Thank you Julia for being so tactful and dressing him in it for me.

I’m looking forward to my trip to California… just 3 more days and I will be there.
