catching up (part 1)

I finally got around to looking through my photos to see what I have been up to since I last posted anything. The easiest thing to do seemed to be to make a new album and go from there… 30 pictures later I have decided I should probably take a few days to catch up… So here is Chapter One

.

I have been working on the Nancy Halvorsen Count On It series for Pieceful Heart Fabrics. Here is May…

and because you can have too much of a good thing, 5 months in one picture…

I think there are 4 more to come…

Then we had a “Just a wrap” class. Not many intrepid fabric potters but here is one super finished bowl…

and one underway…

…still at the place mat size… but looking good!

We made graffiti fabrics at Fiber Divas last month under the expert guidance of Cheryl Sleboda using Tulip brand spray paints and a wide variety of stencils.

Here are Yvette and Cheryl considering the options.

Fortunately the ever organized and generous Yvette brought plenty of fabric and shared with me because I was totally unprepared. I made 2 pieces of sprayed fabrics…

Now I need to put them to good use?

Benjamin is one! He had a Very Hungry Caterpillar themed party so that’s an excuse for a new quilt if ever I heard one. Andover Fabrics first produced an Eric Carle designed line a few years ago and I bought a panel back then but no co-ordinates. Serendipitously they came out with a new collection in January so I was first in line for a few pieces…

The front of the quilt, using the “old” panel…

and the back, using the “new” panel…

and the photograph we all really wanted to see… the boy himself, sitting on his new quilt for a few seconds.

And that seems like a good place to finish for now… Chapter Two coming soon.

Love keeping up with you on your blog.
Liked your version of the Caterpillar Quilt. I have made two of the old version for granddaughters. Gave the latest one to Julie Jean earlier this month.
Made a twin size quilt for my 4year old for her birthday last month..birthdays are good excuses for new quilts!

This style of large piece quilt is my current favorite way to show off a novelty print or panel. It helps that they are quick and easy too!!
